Abstract Art

I started looking into the some abstract art, playing around with colours and shapes. This picture is my largest to date, measuring 70 x 90cm and originally done to fill a large blank wall in our living room with a new piece of art.

I started looking into options of what to paint to cover the back of an IKEA cabinet - we had it side on to use and a bedside table, but found that the back was a bit ugly. So with some oil paper, and foam I was able to make a bespoke size to fit the back panel. Get the size right was one thing - but I wasn't sure what to paint as my normal love of portraits would look odd in the space, so I ended up experimenting with an abstract piece and really pleased with the result.
